World Junior Report -

As the athletes enter the knock out stages in the various age groups, Joe Dillon and Sean Keane have progressed to the last 16 in the Boys Under 16 Singles. Joe topped his group in the pool play and defeated Alberto Sikaffy - Honduras in the first knock out match while Sean was in 2nd place in his group defeated Sergio Luis Baires - Honduras to advance to the last 16.
Other players to do well in the pool play were Conor Skehan and Eoin Kearns who gained second places in their groups in the Boys Under 14 Singles, Elaine Murphy 2nd in her group in the Girls Under 14 Singles pool play and Majella Haverty also 2nd in her group in the Girls Under 18 pool play. In the younger age groups James Ryan reached the last 8 in the Boys Under 10 Singles.
In the Doubles events, Under 12 boys Darragh Carey and Stephen Quinn have reached the semi finals thus winning bronze medals. The face Parrilla / Duarte of Mexico on Saturday.

Junior Team Arrives in Dominican Republic

The 17 strong Irish Junior team arrived safely in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to compete in the 21st IRF World Junior Championships. The team will compete against 16 other nations. 238 players will compete for World medals. To follow the draws, rosters and results please click on the link below.

All Junior Championships get go Ahead

Despite the bad weather and severe flooding in the south of the country, the All Ireland Junior Championships will take place in Fermoy on Saturday 28th November. Competitors will vie for National titles in singles at Under 11, 13, 15, 17 & 21. On Sunday morning the Irish Junior Team to compete in World Junior Championships will have their final training session before departure for Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on December 11th. The team is managed and coached by Christy Slattery.
