New Prohibited List Now Published

WADA's Executive Committee on September 20, approved the 2009 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods. This List will go into effect on January 1, 2009.

Winter Fundraiser 2008

The RAI are holding a 'fund raising' tournament in Kingscourt on the 25/26th October.
The recent hosting of the Worlds in Ireland has left the RAI without any funds to carry forward racquetball for the new season.
The tournament will be an Open Draw, which means that there will be only one division and that anybody can play anybody. There will be no seeding points awarded for this event and virtually no prizes. It is hoped that this will be a fun weekend and that as many players of all grades will turn up to support this event.
Each player will have a minimum of three matches, falling back a division if they lose. The theme is fun, so on that note the RAI will be organizing a table quiz and other novelty events to keep all amused.
There will also be a workshop on the rules and enforcement/interpretation of some of the more sticky rules. If you can not make it, please feel free to donate your entry fee (or smaller or larger sums) to any committee member of the RAI.
Your help in sustaining the RAI throughout this lean period is very much appreciated.

RAI AGM - New Committee Elected

At the Annual General Meeting of the Racquetball Association of Ireland held in Tullamore on 13th September a new committee was elected as follows - Sean Gargan - President, Liam Hughes - Vice President, Gary Lynch - General Secretary, Jimmy Gannon - Assistant Secretary, Shane Laverty - Treasuer/Development Officer, Adam Neary - Tournament Secretary, Christy Slattery - Junior Development Officer, Michael Haverty - PRO, Oliver Moran - Childrens Officer and John Comerford - Anti Doping Officer.

RAI Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Racquetball Association of Ireland will be held in the Bridge Hotel, Tullamore on Saturday 13th of September starting at 2.00pm.
Clubs are invited to submit nominations for ALL positions on the National Executive and also any motions to change our constitution. These nominations/motions must be sent to RAI Secretary Gary Lynch no later than Friday 29th of August.
United States make clean sweep of titles

The United States Racquetball Team captured all the titles at the World Racquetball Championships held in Kingscourt. The Irish team improved on their seeding since the last World Championships in 2006. Korea has been granted the 2010 Championships
