The Leinster Open will be held in Moylagh, Co Meath on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th January 2009.

Irish Junior Team remain in Top 8 in World Seedings

A small Irish Junior team have mantained a top eight position in the ranking following the World Junior Championships in Phoenix USA. The Boys team of Joe Dillon and Daire Gargan are placed in creditable 7th position while the Girls team of Eithne Skehan and Majella Haverty are in 11th place. The combined ranking for Ireland at the World Juniors is 8th place

Irish Junior Team begin Compertition at World Juniors

After a great Opening Ceremony at Tempe Diablo Stadium at which 17 countries were represented, the Irish Team began competition in the group stages of the Championships. Successful in his opening match was Joe Dillon who defeated Canadian Taylor Blue in first round off the 14 & Under Singles. In the other group games , losses were recorded by Eithne Skehan, Majella Haverty and Daire Gargan

Junior Nationals This Weekend

Over 50 junior racquetball athletes will compete in the All Ireland Junior Championships this coming weekend 29th & 30th November. The venues for the event has been switched from Fermoy to Templederry and Rossmore in Co Tipperary. Athletes will vie for National Titles in singles at Under 11, 13, 15 17 & 21.

First Open Singles Win for Patrick

Patrick Hanley(Fermoy) was successful in winning his first Open Singles Title at the Ballinrobe Open last weekend. Pat defeated maestro Noel O`Callaghan in the final to claim a well deserved victory. In the Womens Singles Majella Haverty(Castlebar) had 2 games to 1 victory over Newport`s Donna Ryder.
