Doubles and Overages Singles Completed

The National Doubles & Overage Singles Championships were held in Arklow last weekend. Adam Neary(Arklow) & Noel O`Callaghan(Fermoy) are the Mens Doubles Champions for 2009 while Elma Gibney(Moylagh) and Toni Neary(Arklow) are the Womens National Doubles Champions





Connacht Juniors next Sunday

The Connacht Junior Championships will be held in Castlebar on Sunday next 1st March. There will be competition for boys and girls at Under 10, 12, 14, 1`6, and 18. Entries to M Haverty by Thursday 26th March.







Busy week ahead for Munster Racquetball

Its will be a very busy time in Munster this week with semi finals and finals in Mens Open, Mens Novice, Womens Open and Womens Novice Doubles. The action starts on Tuesday 24th February in Touraneena, Co Waterford with the Munster Open Men’s Doubles Championships semi finals and final starting at 7pm. On Thursday 26th February the Mens Novice Doubles final will be played in Youghal Racquetball Club in Co Cork. Starting time is 7.30pm. Finally on Friday evening, its the Womens Doubles, Open and Novice beginning at 8pm in Templederry, Co Tipperary.

Munster Junior Championships

There was a big turnout of junior players at the Munster Junior Racquetball Championships which were hosted by the Templederry club. Matches were also played at the Dolla, Rossmore and Ballinahinch venues. The Munster Junior Champions for 2009 are as follows: Under 10 - Matt Ryan (Templederry), Aisling Carey (Templederry), Under 12 - Mike Kearns (Touraneena), Emma Ryan (Rossmore), Under 14 - Dean Cliffe (Touraneena), Kate Ryan (Rossmore), Under 16 - Eoin Kearns (Touraneena), Aisling Hickey (Rossmore), Under 18 Sinead Corcoran (Rossmore).

30th National Singles Championships

The National Singles Championships will be held in Kingscourt on the 7th & 8th March. This will be the 30th running of the Open Singles the first being held in 1979. For the record book, Tom Hurley of Sutton was the first Mens Open Singles Champion while Marie Duignan (Ballygall) was the first Womens Open Singles Champion. Entry forms will be available shortly and the tournament director is Adam Neary. Also the National Junior Even Championships will be held for boys and girls at Under 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 Singles.
