First Open Win for Joe Dillon

Seventeen year old Joe Dillon(Kingscourt) won his first major Championship at senior level when he won the Mens Singles at the 15th Moylagh Open in Co Meath. Joe defeated current National Champion Noel O`Callaghan(Fermoy) 15-7, 13-15, 11-6.
In Womens Singles, Majella Haverty(Castlebar) won her third Open Singles competition when she defeated Susan Neary (Arklow)15-9, 15-10. It was Susan`s first competitive tournament after an absence of over 2 years.

All Ireland Junior B Championships

The All Ireland Junior B Championships will be held in Arklow on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th of January. There will be competition for boys & girls at Under, 12, 14, 16 & 18 singles. To enter contact Christy Slattery

Ireland move to 5th place after Worlds Juniors

After some amazing performances by the Irish Junior Team at the 21st World Junior Championships in the Dominican Republic, Ireland has moved up 3 places in the World Ranking List.
Although the figures are not official as yet, in the Combined Team rankings, Ireland is in 5th behind leaders USA, Mexico, Bolivia,and Costa Rica.
In the World Cup Team Event(Under 14, 16 & 18) The Irish team was in 6th place while in the Esprit Cup(Under 10 & Under 12), Ireland took 5th place. The team return from the Dominican Republic on Wednesday 23rd and the arrival time at Dublin Airport is 1.35pm
