Results from 15th World Championships

The Irish Womens Team finished in 8th place overall, up one place from 2008 at the 15th World Racquetball Championships in Seoul,South Korea, however the Mens team dropped 5 places ending up in 15th place. The Womens team of Katie Kenny and Majella Haverty defeated Tonga and Guatemala in the play-offs.
In the individual competitions, Joe Dillon fared best reaching the semi final of the Red Division while he and his partner Pat Hanley won the final in the White Division of the Doubles.

World Racquetball Championships - Korea

Ireland will be represented at the 15th World Racquetball Championships which will be held in Seoul, South Korea from 13th to 21st August. The Irish Team of Patrick Hanley(Fermoy) Joe Dillon(Kingscourt), Majella Haverty(Castlebar) and Katie Kenny(Castlebar) will travel to Seoul on the 11th August. Ireland is the only full European team at these World Championships.
The Korean Racquetball Federation(KRF) have invested over 700,000 US dollars in the event which will have seven portable courts plus a full glass stadium court.

Succesful World Senior Doubles Concludes

The 5th IRF World Senior Doubles concluded in Kingscourt last Saturday. Over 60 players from USA, mexico, Canada, Guatemala, Germany and Ireland took part in the competitions held at Kingscourt Racquetball & Handball Club.
